Mathematics of Planet Earth
PIMS is a participant in a special year of broadly based programs in 2013 on the Mathematics of Planet Earth: see www.mpe2013.org. Mathematics of Planet Earth 2013 will provide a showcase for the essential relevance of mathematics to planetary problems and create a context for the mathematical developments necessary to meet global challenges. The PIMS community has embraced this initiative through a series of workshops, conferences and special focus periods.
