The Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) has learned that our invited speakers may have been contacted by companies or individuals claiming to be affiliated with PIMS and offering assistance making hotel bookings and travel arrangements. These emails and calls are a scam to fraudulently obtain your credit card information and should be ignored.

PIMS never contacts speakers to make arrangements or request payment for travel related bookings, nor do we authorize any third party company to do so on our behalf or have any affiliation with travel agencies or business travel management companies.

Do not provide any personal or banking information over the phone or via email. If you have been contacted by a scam company and have provided them with your credit card information, call your credit card company immediately and report it to the authorities.
