INRIA delegation visits PIMS
On December 16-18, Dominique Sotteau, Director of International Affairs for INRIA (l'Institut national de recherche en informatique et en automatique) -the French government's agency for research in computer science-visited PIMS sites at UBC, SFU and UVic. She met with researchers, postdoctoral fellows and administrators with the purpose of establishing active collaborations between INRIA and PIMS.
During her visit at PIMS-UBC, Dr. Sotteau met with Alejandro Adem, the Director of PIMS and David Brydges, the PIMS Deputy Director to discuss ways to establish closer links between the two organizations. Joint activities between INRIA and PIMS are being planned as an outcome of this meeting.
INRIA is a French national research institution focusing on computer science, control theory and applied mathematics. Created in 1967 at Rocquencourt near Paris, on the premises left by SHAPE, INRIA is a public scientific and technological establishment (EPST) under the double supervision of the French Ministry of National Education, Advanced Instruction and Research and the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry.
