Fall 2017 West Coast Optimization Meeting
Speakers
Details
The West Coast Optimization Meeting (WCOM) has a long tradition as a regional meeting bringing together scientists working in optimization and related areas. This will be third time SFU has hosted this meeting.
Last year's meeting at UBC featured 8 speakers (from SFU, Stanford, UBC, UBC Okanagan, and the University of Washington) with 40 participants. Speakers included senior and junior faculty, a postdoctoral fellow, and two graduate students.
The conference provides an opportunity for the local optimization community, including faculty, long-term visitors and graduate students to exchange ideas and start collaborations. Outside speakers since have included D. Orban (Montreal), J. Royset (Naval Post-graduate School), M. Skutella (T.U. Berlin), Y. Ye (Stanford), J. de Loera (UC Davis), C. Audet (Montreal) and J. Duchi (Stanford).
