Emerging Mathematics Instructor Workshop
Topic
Details
During the workshop, we will do reading, research, reflection, and writing about issues of undergraduate mathematics education. Participants will get exposed to a variety of literature from various publications relating to mathematics education, as well as guest speakers who have expertise in the field. Students will learn in an interactive environment, focused on open discussion and group work, and will be given the opportunity to practice their classroom techniques in front of an audience of their peers. At the close of the workshops, participants will have a deeper knowledge base of theoretical and practical issues of pedagogy and student learning, will have finished writing a teaching philosophy, and will be awarded a certificate of completion.
