This meeting is to honor Drs. Fred Brauer and Castillo-Chavez, who have made significant contributions to promote the application of mathematical sciences in infectious disease epidemiology and have made major contributions to training a new cadre of highly qualified mathematical modelers, many of whom have gone on to hold important academic positions across the globe.
