Topic
Symplectic Geometric Algorithms for Hamiltonian Systems
Speakers
Details
We first introduce the background and motivation of Hamiltonian systems and symplectic geometry. The basic ideas and the key steps on developing symplectic geometric algorithms are presented. Applications of symplectic geometric methods for Hamiltonian systems in multi-scale computations for wave equations and for time-dependent Maxwell’s equations in composite materials will be reported to illustrate the power of this technique.
