Below are the details about the preparation sessions for ELMACON 2022. For the current competition, see the preparation sessions page.

As in past years, we will be running a number of "preparation sessions" to let students get a taste of ELMACON. The ELMACON Prep sessions are free sessions designed to introduce students to the type of questions they'll see during the competition. At each session, ELMACON instructors will go through useful mathematical techniques and will use questions from past exams will be used to teach techniques useful for the competition. The sessions are open to anyone and will give students a taste of what the competition will be like.

After each session, this page will be updated with materials used by the instructor.

Session 1: Saturday, December 10th

Session 2: Saturday, February 4th

This event will be led by Dr. Melania Alvarez.

 

Session 3: Saturday, March 25th

  • Date: Saturday, March 25th, 2023, 10am-12pm
  • Notes: Dr. Yuan's lecture notes. Please note, the questions used in this session are particularly difficult. If you are struggling with them we recommend starting with the practice exams first.
